Blake Brandon's Grandmother

Blake and John are the couple I met at Church Under the Bridge that I invited to small group. Blake's grandmother is recovering from a shoulder replacement. This is from Blake's e-mail to me, "Just before Christmas she fell into her dresser and cut her head and shattered her shoulder. So surgery was inevitable but a huge risk at 85 years old. So last Wed. afternoon I was moving her from the hospital to the nursing home. "

Greg Chandler is in Equador

Greg is currently in Equador learning about the model put in place by Compassion International. Let's pray for safe travels and that he can bring some great missionary opportunities back to Crossroads.

Our Small Group

Let's all say a special prayer for our small group. What a wonderful small group we have, so I think the first part of my prayer will be thank you and that I am blessed. Let's pray that God's words flow through the speakers on Saturday and Sunday that He can calm any nerves and that He can use us as a vessel to bring other people into community. And let's pray that God can use our small group as He chooses in regards to members and everything we do. I think if we allow Him to work in us as individuals and our small group, we will continue to prosper and grow in the ways He chooses.

Two People from Shannon's Hometown

Shannon knows two people from her hometown, 25 and 37 years old, who are currently in the hospital in need of a heart transplant.

Brannon has Pancreatitis

Brannon is currently on medication for pancreatitis. He also mentioned that his sugar was high. Let's all pray that the medication works and that Brannon's sugar gets regulated to normal levels.

Jason's Granny Francis

Granny Francis is in the hospital right now. She struggles with alzheimer's disease.

Jason's Friend Aaron

Jason is visiting Aaron today in jail. Let's pray that goes well and that God gives Jason the right words for Aaron. Aaron's baby is still in the NICU and the mother is in drug rehab. Aaron is struggling with drug addiction.

Jason and Molly's Unspoken Requests

Jason and Molly mentioned some unspoken requests including 3 families that are having a hard time right now.

Jason's 6th Sinus Infection

Jason is now on his 6th sinus infection. Let's all pray that this medication works, and this will be the last sinus infection he has to endure for a while.

Molly's BSF Friend Karla

Karla is currently pregnant and has a blood clot in her uterus. She also has three children.

Praise: Joey's Mom Is Out of the Hospital

Joey's mom is home and is currently on blood thinners to help with the blood clots in her body. She is getting monitored twice a week which will hopefully prevent some of the struggles that she has recently went through.

Cody Calvert and People of Haiti

Cody Calvert is a missionary that is currently located in Haiti. He is okay but definitely could use our prayers as he is in the middle of the tragedies happening in Haiti.

Kim Lusk (Update & Praise)

I received this message this morning regarding Kim Lusk... she is a friend of mine's cousin that is having some issues and was at the Mayo Clinic for tests.

Kim just called and is doing well just very tired from all the test and cath. A praise though. They felt sure she had PPH primary pulmonary hypertention which is very serious. The only way they could rule it out was to do the cath. Doctor said it is 100% not PPH praise God for that.


He also said it is not anything cardiac, now back to finding a cause for all this. They have a 14 hour trip back in lots of bad weather so continue to pray for them. Thank you for all your prayers of love and concern.

The Scholfer's

Jason, Michelle and their son, Wyatt are traveling to Ethiopia to adopt Gabe. Gabe is one, and this should be a big adventure for everyone.

Shannon's Older Brother Jim

Jim isn't married and has quit his job. He's having a rough time, is alone and currently jobless.

Joey's Mom

Joey's mom is back in the ICU at Ashland. I believe Becky said they have found a blood clot and are working on figuring out if she needs to go back on blood thinner or leave her like she is.

Holly's Sister Heather

Heather's husband's dad recently passed away.

Rod

Rod had kidney failure, and I believe Holly said he had a kidney transplant. He has recently had multiple strokes and heart attacks and is at the UK hospital.

Jason's Friend, Aaron

Aaron has recently been arrested for robbery. He struggles with drugs. He has a wife and little baby that was born premature. The baby was released from the NICU but is back because of pneumonia.

Christy's Daughter Lydia

This is the daughter of one of Molly's friends, Christy. Lydia is having heart surgery. She is 5 years old.

Brannon's mom

Brannon's mom Peggy Freeman had surgery Monday and has been at our house recovery. But, she starting spiking a fever today so Brannon took her to the ER. As of right now 10:30pm on Thursday 12-17 they have admitted her. Please pray the doctors can figure out what is wrong and get her well soon.

Ashley Update

Hey great news!! My little sister Ashley has found a job!!! YEAH!! She starts Monday. It will be full time Mon-Fri 8-5. She is really excited. Now she is trying to get daycare for the kids. This is going to be a challenge. Mostly the money part. I talk to her today and she said if she cannot come up with daycare and the money she will have to turn the job offer down. So please pray that God continues to work in her life.

Praise

My friend had her biopsy thursday and the results are in today.  Everything looks fine.  She will have a follow-up mammogram in 6 months, but the biopsy said it was just fiberous tissue.  Thank you for your prayers.

Brenda Ward

Joey's cousin Brenda had back surgery on Saturday. During the surgery the surgeon clipped her spinal cord and it is now leaking spinal fluid. She is preparing for her 3rd surgery to repair it. Please pray that "the 3rd time is the charm". Thank you!

By the way Jason, this is AWESOME!! Thank you for doing this.

Grandpa Thornbury

James Thornbury, my grandfather, is dealing with lung and kidney issues.  He is 86, and lives in Grayson, he says he has little to complain about, since he has had a good life.  He is a very brave and warm compassionate man.  Please pray for his comfort in the Lord and for his disposition to remain grateful as he faces the later days of a life well lived.

US Troops

Please pray for all the service men and women who are stationed all over the world, and especially those in harms way in Afghanistan and Iraq.  They are sacrificing much for us to be able to live free and to enjoy the life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness that comes from the battles to protect our way of life.

Please pray for their safety and for their sweet families.  Don't forget to thank them.

Molly's Friend's Biopsy

We have a friend from church who is going in for a biopsy tomorrow (12.03.2009).  Please pray for benign results from this test.  She is mid 30's and has small children.  Please pray for this family as they face this cancer test tomorrow.  It can really be a life-changer and we pray they don't have to deal with this disease.  These are anxious times.

Please pray for her to trust in the Lord and take it one day at a time.

Uncle Keith

Keith has been battling pancreatic cancer for some time and had a good report for the first time in a long time during this battle.  He was even able to go deer hunting, but he came down with the H1N1 Flu.  Please pray for his continued battle with cancer and for his recovery from the H1N1 flu.

Angel Lowe

Angel's father died a few weeks ago and her husband is overseas and was able to come home for the funeral, but had to go back.  Please pray for Angel in such a difficult season of her life.  Please pray for her to have comfort as she navigates the coming days and weeks.

Molly Newland & Baby

Molly has an appointment at the OBGYN to check on whether she has gestational diabetes.

Molly has her 5th Chemo Treatment on Wednesday 12.09.2009.

Please pray for her not to have gestational diabetes and for her to do well with this 5th chemo treatment.

Please pray for our little one who is in Momma's Belly.  Please pray that she continues to do well and arrives safe and sound in a few months and that her kidneys continue to show up as normal on the ultrasounds.

Kevin Newsome

Kevin, of Mt. Sterling, while working in Carsile, had a major accident on a machine and cut off two of his fingers.  He was flown to Louisville and he will recover use of his hand, but has two amputated fingers.  Kevin needs prayers and he deals with the pain, the physical loss of his fingers, and the psychological pain associated with the loss.

Brian Waddle

Brian Waddle, mid 30's, passed away recently.  He leaves behind two small children and a wife.  Please pray for this young widow and her young children who have lost their husband and father.  They have such tough days ahead and need all the prayer they can get.

Sarah Blanton

Sarah Blanton, mid 20's, passed away on 11.30 in Morehead.  She took her own life and her family needs much pray for comfort and peace as they navigate these troubled waters over the hours, days, weeks, and months to come.

Granny Fulks (Jennifer's Granny)

Granny Fulks needs our prayers.  She has a procedure done on her back (cement in the back) and needs prayers as she recovers.

Tyler

Mike's Cousin, Tyler, 20, has got his ex-girlfriend pregnant.  Please pray for the young pregnant girl, the unborn baby, Tyler and everyone involved.  They need strength, guidance, and much love through these difficult times.

Bloomfield Family

Mike's uncle Richie has two small children and is going through a divorce.  He has also moved in with Mike's Granny (Bloomfield) and she needs prayer too.  Please pray for the kids, dealing with such turbulent changes in their lives and for them to have a good Christmas.

Alison & Bucky Buchanan

Alison had a double mastectomy on Monday (11.30) and is recovering from the surgery at home.  She was diagnosed with DCIS cancer and is hopeful that the official pathology will come back and confirm this initial diagnosis.  She and her family needs lots of prayer.

She has the physical challenges of recovery from surgery, she has the emotional challenges of accepting her new altered body.  She and Bucky have three small children.  Please pray for peace and comfort, strength and courage and for a quick recovery.

Please also pray for their two girls and son to handle the changes that have and will take place at home.

We have a hallelujah in that so far so good on her diagnosis and her surgery, now she begins recovery.

Kathy Auxier

Kathy is a co-worker of Shannon Tackett.  She is currently battling cancer and she is in very bad shape.  Shannon will update this post, but we know Kathy needs lots of prayers.  Pray for strength, peace, comfort.  Please pray for Kathy, her family, her friends, and co-workers.

Ashley Stamper

Ashley, Somerset, is a young mother, with three children, who is currently going through a divorce.  She is also dealing with having MURSA (on her face).  Her situation is very challenging and she needs lots of prayers as she navigates this hard road that lies ahead for her and her children.

Amber and her two boys

Amber is trying to get on her feet and she has experienced generosity and she is also coming to church as a result.  Please pray that her life will continue to move toward Christ and for us to be thankful that she is being touched by generous people at our church.

Kim Lusk

Kim Lusk, 37, of Lexington, her mother is asking for us to pray hard for her and her family.  Kim was doing OK, but then her heart took a turn for the worst and they  think she will need a transplant.  She is going to go to the Mayo Clinic and hope to find some other options.  Please pray for her to live and for the family to have peace and comfort as they navigate this journey.

Angie

Angie, Ashland, KY, is 37 and has battled three types of cancer and is not doing well at all.  Please pray for her and for her family as they face such a dire situation and daily battles with her health and how she feels.
